When I tried to update the Award BIOS. Award Flash Program reported Insufficient memory. why?
The easiest solution to this problem is to boot the system from a Windows
98 boot disk, and then when it stops at an A: prompt, insert the flash
disk and type: AUTOEXEC.BAT.
On some configurations, even with a clean boot disk, you may get an out of
memory error when you try to flash your BIOS. If this happens, you will
need to take some extra steps to successfully update your BIOS.
First, make a new, clean boot disk by using the `format a: /s` command.
(note this disk should be Win 95/98)if you do not have win95/98 an image
can be obtained from www.bootdisk.com. see creating a bootdisk.
Next, copy the file `himem.sys` onto the disk. Next, create a `config.sys`
file on the floppy disk and add the following lines.
Device=himem.sys
Dos=high,umb
That should solve the memory problems.
Alternately, create a Win98 boot disk, and then unzip the BIOS zip file
onto the Win98 boot disk. Then use that as your flash disk.
